Tech That Counts is a free email newsletter. This page explains what information we collect when you subscribe, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect your email address to send you the newsletter, and nothing else happens to it.

What we collect

When you subscribe, we collect:

• Your email address — the one thing we ask for.
• Basic signup metadata — the date and time you subscribed, the country your request came from, and the type of browser you used. We use this only to keep spam and abuse off the list.

We do not ask for your name, and our signup form has no other fields. We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies on this site.

How we use it

• To send you the newsletter you signed up for.
• To keep the subscriber list free of bots and duplicate entries.
• To respond if you email us.

We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone. We do not send anything other than the newsletter and, rarely, service notes about the newsletter itself.

Where it lives

Subscriber information is stored with the service providers we use to run the newsletter: our website host (Netlify), Google (where the subscriber list is kept), and our email sending platform. These providers process your information only on our behalf, to deliver the newsletter.

Unsubscribing

Every issue includes an unsubscribe link. One click and you're off the list. You can also email us at hello@techthatcounts.com and we'll remove you promptly.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it entirely. Email hello@techthatcounts.com and we'll take care of it.

Children

This newsletter is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and note the new date at the top. Material changes will be mentioned in the newsletter itself.
